industryIndustry SurveyMarch 19, 2008 - Source: AFFTABy Diane Bristol, Chairperson: AFFTA Trade Development Committee AFFTA has contracted with the Leisure Trends Group (LTG) to complete a Retailer Distribution Survey for the year 2007. The last industry survey of this kind was released by AFFTA in 2005, which was also conducted by Leisure Trends Group. Representatives from Leisure Trends Group are over 90% finished with calls to US Retailers from a list that was compiled and approved by AFFTA. The study is designed to provide the industry with a better understanding of the fly-fishing market – from what is selling to an overall state of the industry from the retail perspective. The information garnered through this survey will greatly benefit all facets of our industry. Results will be summarized for the first time at the FlyFishing Retailer Industry breakfast this September. AFFTA feels so strongly about the survey that it will be provided to all AFFTA members at no charge. In the past, the survey information was offered for a fee to AFFTA members. The survey will be available to any non-AFFTA member for $1,000. In addition to providing the survey results to AFFTA members, one of the lunch seminars at the FlyFishing Retailer 2008 show will be focused on how to read, understand and use the survey for your business. The Leisure Trends Group has managed surveys for over 75 Sports & Recreation manufacturers, as well as industry associations such as Outdoor Industry Association (OIA), Snowsports Industries of America (SIA), and Dive Equipment Marketing Association (DEMA). LTG is frequently quoted or sourced for articles in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and USA Today. AFFTA and the Fly-Fishing Industry thank you in advance for your time and participation. Watch for findings in your inbox soon. |
