industryAFFTA Search for PresidentMarch 19, 2008 - Source: FlyFishing RetailerThe American Fly Fishing Trade Association (AFFTA) has announced that the search has begun for the position of President for the organization to replace Robert Ramsay. The Executive Committee accepted Mr. Ramsay's resignation earlier this year, effective March 30, 2008. AFFTA's Board of Directors agreed unanimously that the new President be located in a permanent office in either Denver or Washington D.C., have prior successful experience managing a trade association or similar non-profit organization and have an active interest in the fly fishing industry. "AFFTA is a relatively young trade association, taking initial form in the late 1980's. We have taken on significant challenges and identified great opportunities for the organization - it is a much different association than five years ago. We will fill this position with a person that truly understands trade association administration and non-profit organizations, is passionate about our industry and committed to helping us achieve our mission to promote the sustained growth of the fly fishing industry.," said Alan Gnann, chairman of AFFTA. The American Fly Fishing Trade Association is the only organization established for the sole purpose of representing and advocating for the shared interests of fly fishing businesses. For more information about the position, please contact Alan Gnann at info@rec.com or (860) 749-3476 x209. |
